Tips for getting the best prices:
- Add Amazon products to a wishlist and periodically check for sales. The pricing changes all the time.
- Cricut.com appears to have regular sales as well. If you are a member of Cricut access – which has free trials and regular discounts – you can get an additional 10% off on purchase through Cricut’s website.
- Add Hobby Lobby items to your cart and then purchase when a 40% off sale hits the item category you are looking for. Often they have free shipping over $50.
- Check Joann’s Fabric website for doorbuster deals.
- Make online purchases through a cashback website like Rakuten or TopCashBack for a little extra “discount” later paid back to you. If you haven’t tried Rakuten, use our referral link for an additional 10% cashback on your first purchase (link).
Other product recommendations:
- Dollhouses: although on the small side, this is a great starter dollhouse with a low cost of entry: Vermont Farmhouse Junior. The Hobby Lobby price is only $89.99; it will run you more at other stores. (Pick it up in store to save on shipping!) Alternatively, check out Facebook marketplace, Craigslist, or Buy Nothing groups to find someone who is selling or giving away a kit or an abandoned dollhouse that needs your TLC.
- Mod Podge: for wallpapering, adhering paper “countertops,” etc. (Glossy <link> Matte <link> Sealant spray <link>)
- A color printer: This will allow you to use the print-then-cut feature in Cricut Design Space. You can also print flooring and wallpapers for your dollhouse that you purchase on Etsy or find free links. Mine is old but when I buy a new one, I plan to follow Wirecutter’s recommendation (link).
