DIY Transfer Stickers Artwork for 1:12 Miniature Dollhouse

I love the way these flower “paintings” turned out for A’s house!

I got the idea to use transfer stickers from a tutorial by lifeinmini (link).

I bought the flower stickers from Amazon (link) and pressed them onto some nice paper with a bit of weave to it.

To make the frames, I used 1/8″ basswood strips (no link available, purchased in store at HobbyLobby) and my brand-new miter shears (link). The shears really helped–I see why miter shears make so many miniaturists’ must-have lists.

  1. Huh, I never thought of framing stickers for using as pictures! They turned out really nice, and I might just try that, too! All the other tutorials I have seen require you to use printed out pictures to frame, but using stickers is quite creative. Also, would you recommend getting miter shears (do they work really well?) or do you think a mini miter saw a better investment?

    1. It’s a good question! You can do more with a small miter box, like cutting thicker wood and wider strips, but the shears are really easy to use. Not much harder than a pair of scissors once you get used to them. And the blades are replaceable. So for projects with a lot of cuts on thin, narrow materials, miter shears will save time.
