A favorite aspect of miniatures for me is getting to explore different types of crafts. As I wrap up some final details on A’s house, I decided to make some clothes to hang in the open wardrobe in the primary bedroom. I do not have a lot of expertise as a sewist, but I always like to improve my skills.
I liked the patterns available on the Prairie Crocus Studio Etsy shop (link), so I bought this one with a variety of 60s-inspired looks (link).
For my first dress, I cut the fabric from a J Crew Liberty fabric shirt that I thrifted via thredUP for $9 but banished to my fabric stash because it never fit right.
The hardest part was turning the dress right side out after sewing in the lining, although I have a small crochet hook that helped a lot. I think the pattern would work better if the back pieces were cut separately, and I will be modifying the pattern to make it that way in the future.
Here is the finished product hanging in the open wardrobe. It adds a nice, homey feel to the room, but needs some other dresses to go with it!

Can’t wait to sew the next mini clothes for this wardrobe!
