Miniatures in London

On my recent trip to London, I was able to spend a little time exploring the miniatures scene.

First, I visited the Young V & A museum, which has quite a fun collection of dollhouses. I love to peruse the museum’s book Dolls’ Houses for inspiration (link).

Second, I visited Pollock’s Toy Shop in Covent Garden. Although the miniatures selection was small, it was delightful. I picked out a couple of maileg items and this incredible handprinted Noah’s Ark toy set. The details are unbelievable.

Third, I even got to see some miniatures at the Sherlock Holmes Museum, which happened to have a scale model of Sherlock’s sitting room. At the museum gift shop I picked up a tiny violin. I think it’s a little big for 1:12 scale, but it was too cute to pass up.

It was delightful to get to get to see and buy new miniatures on my trip across the pond. But nothing beats being home with my kiddos.
